Ultra light equipment for MTB expeditions

For a one to two day mini MTB expedition like the polaris challenge having the right kit is essential. Light as possible is always the prefference but the lighter your stuff the bigger the hole in your wallett.!!

Have a look at this list for the typical equipment needed to do a Polaris Challenge. As you can see its fairly complete. This is just a general guide and some of it is down to personal prefernce.

This is the Lowe Alpine Contour event 35 (35 litre capacity). You see and awful lot of these packs on the Polaris. 35 litres is the maxmium you should need anymore than this then you have to much stuff!! There is pently of straps and pockets to hold all the bits and pieces you need + the foam liner inside acts as useful mat. A bladder can be also fitted.
